You arrive in Ancient Greece, inside the walled city of Hellas. Every city of Greece stands on its own island in the Mediterranean. Beg the Archon for a quest and he'll send you out to hunt monsters of legend — harpies, cyclopes, gorgons, a minotaur, Medusa, Cerberus and the Titan. Recover the fabled Sunstone, hidden in a different place each game, and return to the Archon to be rewarded for saving Greece.

◆ WHAT TO DO FIRST

  1. Walk up to the Archon on his throne and press T to talk. He'll give you leave to arm yourself.
  2. Go down to the armoury in the cellar (stairwell in the north-west corner of the hall, marked ▼ THE ARMOURY ▼) and press T at the racks for a sword and javelins.
  3. Lost? A red line on the floor always points to your next objective.
  4. Head out the south door — the Archon's quest takes you through the city's north gate.

Slaying beasts earns gold. Besides Hellas, three more walled cities stand on their own islands — Athens, Sparta, Crete — plus six wild islands with peaks to climb for gold. Mount Olympus holds Zeus, Poseidon and the other Olympians, each recruitable for 50 gold. The Underworld lies beneath Sparta: Hades and Persephone rule it, Elysium holds heroes (one joins you for 200 gold), and Tartarus holds the chained Titan Kronos — deadly but can't kill you outright.
SCYLLA & CHARYBDIS guard every harbour entrance. Charybdis (starboard) sinks your galley; Scylla (port) snatches a companion off the deck. Poseidon softens Charybdis to a slow instead of a sink; Zeus makes Scylla take only one companion.
STYMPHALIAN FLOCK hunts anything flying — safe on foot, but they attack on Pegasus. Javelin them down (Left-Click) for 50 gold each; Zeus cuts their damage to a tenth.
CLASHING ROCKS guard other entrances — they close every ~10s, open ~6.5s. Time your run through or lose the galley.
Damage matters: swords/javelins wound and bleed; meteors set flesh alight (skeletons don't burn or bleed); frost puts out fire; lightning staggers.
Slay monsters to gain XP and level up. Enemies drop red (health) and blue (mana) orbs.
